Model UN Club

Each year, the Model UN Club takes part in several UN conferences. Participating students travel to a number of different schools, like St. John's Prep and BC High, and participate in a day long simulation of United Nations activities. Each student is assigned a member country a to represent and serve as its delegate for the day in either the General Assembly, Security Council or topic specific committee, debating and discussing their countries concerns and interests in regards to whatever the pre-determined topic may be (for example, international drug trade or Palestinian statehood). In short, students spend the day role-playing the responsibilities of a United Nations delegate. We begin meeting in October.
